Bonnie Burnard’s A Good House was the #1 bestseller in Canada and the winner of the 1999 Giller Prize. Casino & Other Stories won the Saskatchewan Book of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the Giller Prize. Her first story collection, Women of Influence, published by Coteau Books in Regina, received the Commonwealth Best First Book Award. She is also the recipient of the Marian Engel Award, which honours a female author in mid-career.Born in Southern Ontario, Bonnie Burnard lived for many years in Regina and now lives in London, Canada, where she was recently writer-in-residence at the University of Western Ontario. She has been a guest lecturer at writing and literary conferences in South Africa, Sweden, Germany and England.
