Congratulations to Coteau Books, one of Saskatchewan’s premiere literary publishers, for a prestigious win! Coteau’s recent Young Adult book Fishtailing by Wendy Phillips was honoured with the Governor General’s Award for Fiction in the Youth/Teen category. This is an outstanding accomplishment. The SPG is proud to work with organisations like Coteau Books and is happy to see that such a prestigious award can fall within the borders of Saskatchewan.
There were three GGs awarded to Saskatchewan products. Diane Warren’s Cool Water and Allan Casey’s Lakeland: Journeys into the Soul of Canada were also named as winners in the Fiction and in the Non-fiction categories respectively.
First, we take the GGs. Next, we take the world!
GO, WRITERS! (Which is really only funny if you know about the *Riders*, Saskatchewan’s national football team.)
